Very nice. I proposed to my lovely wife in Yosemite when she was a nursing student in Fresno. I have a soft spot in my heart for the place.

Yosemite's quite a place, and something everyone should experience. Yosemite's wonderful but other portions of the central Sierras are often overlooked, see far fewer people, and should be experienced as well. The Highway 395 corridor on the east side of the Sierras (just east of Yosemite) offers some of the most spectacular lanscape contrasts available anywhere in the U.S.

Visit Yosemite and enjoy every bit of it. Don't short-change the experience by sticking close to the car - venture out & see the rough edges. But don't stop there. Add a couple of days & work the lesser-known areas of the Sierras & really get to know what California has to offer. It's not just beaches & freeways.

I have ALWAYS wanted to visit & hike Yosemite. I've flown over a few times in a 737, but that's as close as I've ever been...

Thanks for posting the photos. And congrats on becoming a father!
