    Helllo everyone,

As a total newb I stumbled upon this forum while trying to identify my orchid.

It's from a mother plant 40 yo. Ive had this ahoot for 6-7 years now and have been forced to take shoots from it a few times due to an incredible growth rate.

Approximately once per year I receive 1-2 stems with flowers lasting for 2-3 weeks (per flower).

The former owner, for obvious reasons, didnt know anything about the plant.

I've gifted a few friends the shoots to keep this orchid in circulation.

However, is this a common species, and what species is it?

Nevertheless, I think it's beautiful plant (when i bloom).

    Thanks guys!

    Welcome to the forum.

Your plant looks like one of the group of “Oncidium intergenerics”. It may be one of the hybrids named Beallara.

First of all, thank you for your answer. I really need to look into that.

Second, I'm really sorry for my late answer. I think email notifications are not a default setting. I just guessed you guys were busy or just tired of rookies.

I really appreciate your answer and will do some more research and thank the old lady that gave me the flower several years back.

    Cheers,
    Andreas

I'm not getting any. I don't actually remember getting any for a long time.
