2009 has GOT to be better

I'm going to try this one more time and if my computer freezes or hangs or whatever the heck it is doing again I will take it as a sign that I really shouldn't post this. Maybe the third time is the charm. I don't want sympathy. I just want you to know why I have been semi-absent. Starting last January my DH had back surgery (successful). Came home that night and went back to the ER with urosepsis (MRSA) and spent 5 more days, most of which he doesn't remember. Double hernia surgery a month later. More back surgery (did no harm but didn't help). Prostate removal three weeks ago. Trip to ER a week ago peeing out what his doctor told us today was 1/3rd of his blood, "this" close to a transfusion and another two days in the hospital. He's doing okay now in that department. He's going tomorrow for pain management injections under anesthesia for leg pain and weakness (which the second back surgery was supposed to correct) which will hopefully let him park his cane and walker and once again turn tree trunks into beautiful bowls, etc. He's been a great patient. Now I am looking forward to the nervous breakdown I have earned.

 

Thanks, Mary Jane. I had a problem this year, too, but I sucked hind tit. Just like in 1988 when I had major surgery and he "decided" five days later to fall on the dock and destroy his speen and I ended up driving several times a day, against orders of course, to visit him in ICU. And I was SO looking forward to a little bit of pampering. Yeah.

 

OMG! I want to go to Italy, specifically Tuscany, but at this point I'd go to Quitman, GA with you. I'll play the lottery here -- that should improve our odds.

 

Thanks, Tom. It's got to be better and it will be. Mary Jane, I know some really bad words in Italian. Will that help? I can ask for dark rum and ice in Spanish so I can probably learn essentials in Italian. My recently divorced daughter is living with a second-generation Neopolitan. He must know some good stuff, ya think?
